The Human Rights Campaign Wants To Turn The Internet Red Once Again

Two years ago, the Human Rights Campaign asked Facebook users to "turn the internet red," as the Supreme Court convened to decide the fate of Proposition 8.

Now, they're at it again, this time asking the Internet to once again go red in support of the Supreme Court hearing oral arguments in Obergefell v. Hodges this Tuesday (April 28).

The group announced on Tuesday that it wants to get 500,000 Facebook users to turn their profile pictures red in the days leading up to the case. To support this, they've created a tool that allows you to upload a photo and have it watermarked with a red equals sign.

The HRC released this statement:

By going red, you’ll make a statement that no matter where you live, you can demonstrate your support for marriage equality–and the belief that #lovecantwait any longer. This simple action will just take a few seconds, but will have a powerful impact, and will help show unified support for marriage equality, once and for all.

If you're not on social media, can still take action to support marriage equality by signing our #LoveCantWait pledge.
