Yet another anti-LGBTQ notable has chimed in following the Masterpiece Cakeshop ruling.

Jeff Amyx, owner of Amyx Hardware & Roofing Supplies in Grainger County, TN, made national headlines in 2015 when he posted a "No Gays Allowed" sign outside his storefront. Amyx, who's also a Baptist minister, defended his decision, claiming his religious beliefs gave him a right to deny queer patrons. Following the backlash, he revised the sign and hung up a new one, which read, "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who would violate our rights of freedom of speech & freedom of religion."

News of the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of anti-gay baker Jack Phillips was a welcome surprise for Amyx, he told WBIR: "I was really shocked because of the track record of our Supreme Court."

The ruling is a victory in America's "attack on Christianity," he claims: "Right now we're seeing a ray of sunshine. This is 'happy days' for Christians all over America, but dark days will come."

Despite Amyx's biblical warning, a recent poll from Reuters/Ipsos found that the vast majority of Americans—some 72%—disagree that business owners have the right to refuse LGBTQ customers on religious grounds.

Meanwhile, representatives for President Donald Trump gave the Supreme Court's ruling a thumbs-up.
