Roseanne Barr Promises "Restitution" in Cryptic Tweet

The comedian shared a vague message on Twitter acknowledging the pain she has caused.

After promising to leave Twitter in the wake of her show's cancelation, Roseanne Barr returned to social media to encourage her followers to vote and to somewhat say she plans to right her wrongs.

Barr's tweet comes amid much speculation that ABC is looking for a way to continue Roseanne without her.

Actress Sara Gilbert, who played Barr's daughter Darlene on the show, expressed remorse after the hit sitcom was canceled on her other show, The Talk, but said she stands behind the network's decision.

"In addition to my statement, I would like to say this has been a very difficult week," Gilbert told her Talk co-hosts. "A lot of people have been hurt by this. This show has always been about diversity, love, and inclusion. And it's sad to see it end in this way. I'm sad for the people who lost their jobs in the process. However, I do stand behind the decision ABC made."

Last week, Barr tweeted racist remarks against former President Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, while also attacking Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. Barr tweeted: "Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj," using Jarrett's initials, replying to a tweet which accused the former White House staffer of alleged coverups during the Obama administration.

Barr later tweeted that it was "a joke," deleted the original tweet, and issued an apology to Jarrett: "I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste."
